A story told in an illustrative and interactive way
As a promotional campaign of an upcoming movie, The Silent Forest, this Illustration series tells an interactive story on Instagram, inviting the audience to make choices that change the characters’ fate.
Role: IllustratorClient: CatchPlay Inc.Year: 2020
This project was a commercial collaboration with CatchPlay, a Taiwanese film distribution corporation. I was invited to create illustrations for an Instagram marketing campaign promoting an upcoming movie. The campaign told a backstory for the main character to help prepare the audience before watching the film. The story unfolded as viewers navigated between pre-built accounts based on their choices. Each account featured 12 illustrations that told part of the story and offered choices linking to other accounts. By selecting different options, audiences experienced the narrative through multiple plot paths.

Drawings Delivered
The story portraits a high schooler who gets bullied by his classmates. Things goes even worse when he finds out the teacher and the parents are not helpful in the situation. Among all the options, the team also left a clue of the main character’s hearing impairment.

Working on this project alone was a valuable experience. It gave me more flexibility with scheduling and creative decisions, but it also required stronger time management and communication skills with the client. Through this experience, I realized I wanted to become a freelancer.
